Lakshmanaswamy, 84 years old, started his career in Hindustan Unilever in Sales Department. Post-retirement he joined MTR and served for 10 long years. He is one of the founding members of Hatti Kaapi. His marketing experience has added a lot of value to the company. Since 2007, he has been associated with Hatti Kaapi and continues to work till date, which drives inspiration and motivation to the team of Hatti Kaapi.

U S Mahendar, 45 years old lives in Bengaluru, Silicon city of India and hails from Hassan. He is an undergraduate (BSC in Electronics). Being self-employed, he took up coffee trading as a career and dealt with many leading export houses for a span of 8 years. He moved to Bengaluru in the year 2002 and started as a small-scale manufacturing unit. Passion to drive filter coffee in retail made him join hands with his friend, M L Gowda and together they launched the first Hatti Kaapi store on 27th November 2009, at one of the high streets in south Bengaluru.

M L Gowda, 53 years old lives in Bengaluru and hails from Hassan. He got his degree in Bachelor of Arts, Mysore University. In the year 2002, he moved to Bengaluru and started a small-scale manufacturing unit to process instant coffee premixes for the vending machine, roasting coffee beans and the blending of coffee. U S Mahendar and he started the business, trading coffee beans from the Estate level which gave them the opportunity to explore and learn more about coffee, from the selection of beans to the roasting, which served as an immense help while starting Hatti Kaapi.

As a responsible corporate citizen, we have adopted green practices like selling coffee in earthen pots and using area plates and plantain leaves to serve snacks. We encourage customers to use coffee grounds for their garden (we give this as a complimentary product). We have successfully implemented our award-winning concept of “Coffee grounds for your garden” at our outlet in Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore, We won the Pinnacle Awards 2015 from BIAL for Excellence in “Green Practices”.
